Welcome to the Language Challenge, a mobile application designed to help users practice and learn Swedish through conversation with AI-powered language bots, study flashcards, and read eBooks. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our mobile application (“App”) on both iOS and Android platforms. By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the App.

1. App Features

Language Challenge is a language-learning application designed to help users learn and practise Swedish.

Features available within the App may include:

• AI-powered language learning conversations;

• conversations with other users;

• flashcards and vocabulary revision tools;

• reading and translation tools for ePub books;

• downloadable on-device artificial intelligence models;

• achievements, streaks, statistics and leaderboards;

• notifications and reminders;

• additional features that may be introduced from time to time.

Some features may be available only to Premium subscribers.

We reserve the right to add, modify, suspend or remove features at any time without liability where reasonably necessary for operational, security or business reasons.

Availability of the App:

While we aim to keep the App available at all times, we do not guarantee that the App or any specific feature will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

2. Subscription & Payments

Premium Subscription:

• The App offers an optional Premium Subscription, available on a monthly basis. Premium features include sending more messages to bots, increasing usage limits for certain cloud-based AI features, creating additional chat rooms and accessing the in-reader cloud translation tool.

• Payments for the Premium Subscription are facilitated via RevenueCat and billed through your iTunes or Google Play account, depending on your platform.

• The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings.

3. User Responsibilities

Minimum Age:

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App. If the laws of your country require a higher minimum age for online services, that higher age requirement applies.

Account Registration:

• You are required to create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and for any activity that occurs under your account.

Content Uploads:

• You may upload ePub books to the App for personal use only. These books are stored locally on your device and cannot be shared with other users through the App.

• You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to own and upload any ePub books you add to the App. The App does not provide eBooks for sale or distribution.

Language Learning:

• Conversations with the AI-powered Swedish language bots, and the use of the AI-powered translation and correction features are intended for educational purposes only. The App uses artificial intelligence technologies to provide language-learning experiences. While they provide useful practice, the App makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy or completeness of the lessons provided.

Your Content:

•  You retain ownership of the content that you create or upload to the App, including flashcards, notes, messages and uploaded ePub files.

• By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store, process and display your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the App’s features.

User-to-User Communications:

The App may allow users to communicate with one another.

You are solely responsible for the messages and content that you send through the App.

You agree not to use the App to:

• harass, threaten or abuse other users;

• send unlawful, defamatory or discriminatory content;

• share another person’s personal information without permission;

• distribute spam, scams or malicious content;

• impersonate another individual or organisation.

We reserve the right to investigate, moderate, remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App or its AI features in any unlawful or abusive manner, including but not limited to:

• • Attempting to reverse-engineer or disrupt the functioning of the App.

  • Using the App to transmit any harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content.

  • Violating any intellectual property rights through the misuse of uploaded content.

  • To generate unlawful content, spam, malicious code, or content intended to harm others.

5. Artificial Intelligence Features

The App includes artificial intelligence features provided by third-party providers and, in some cases, models that operate locally on your device.

AI-generated responses are provided for educational and informational purposes only.

Although we aim to provide useful language-learning experiences, AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate or inconsistent. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for important decisions and should independently verify information where appropriate.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability or suitability of AI-generated responses.

6. Downloadable Content and AI Models

Certain features of the App may require downloading language packs, artificial intelligence models or other content to your device.

These files are licensed, not sold, and are provided solely for use within the App.

You may not copy, redistribute, reverse engineer, sell or otherwise exploit such content except where permitted by applicable law.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence providers, payment processors and translation services.

We are not responsible for outages, interruptions or changes to third-party services that are outside our reasonable control.

8. Data Privacy

We value your privacy and take steps to protect your personal information. Our collection and use of personal data are outlined in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Modifications to the App and Terms

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we may provide notice through the App or by other appropriate means before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the App after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those changes.

10. Termination

We may suspend, restrict or terminate your account if:

• you violate these Terms;

• we reasonably believe your account is being used unlawfully or abusively;

• it is necessary for legal, security or operational reasons; or

• your account has remained inactive for at least 12 months in accordance with our Privacy Policy and data retention practices.

Where reasonably practicable, we may provide notice before deleting an inactive account.

Termination of your account does not automatically entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees already paid, except where required by applicable law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Language Challenge and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of the App, including any loss of data, content, profits, goodwill or business opportunities.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any legal disputes arising from your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
